STRAIGHT LINES | GEOMETRIC
Art deco rings made use of fine bezel settings with smooth finishes. This was a step away from the previous Edwardian style which had rougher finishes due to the lack of advanced equipment.
The experimentation and invention of new cuts of diamond like the baguette cut opened new doors in design in the art deco era (1890 - 1920)
The new diamond cuts helped push a more geometric look into jewellery.

FINE DETAILING
The use of double claws and fine detailing lean into antique stylings.
Milgraining is also a good option to add another layer of detailing to an antique style ring.
Difference between art deco and antique styles
The two styles overlap, the main difference is that art deco styles have a cleaner finish with straight edges, whereas antique or vintage styles have more intricate detailing with softer rounded edges.
To achieve a more antique look, use old cut round diamonds.
To achieve an art deco look, use straight diamond shapes like baguette and emerald cuts.
