Jewellery Care Guide | Looking After Your Jewellery
In caring for your jewellery, it is important to understand what activities may put your item at risk of damage or unnecessary wear and tear. Jewellery is made of fine and precious metals that are malleable, care must be taken when wearing such precious pieces. Read our jewellery care guide below to ensure your item will last for generations.

Misplacing jewellery is the most common way people loose their precious items.
We advise to have three designated spots where your jewellery can be placed:
1- A wooden bowl up high in the kitchen- this is wear your rings can live when you are cooking and cleaning the kitchen.2- A jewellery box in your room - this is where you put all your jewellery at the end of the day before you go to sleep.
3- A hidden safety storage place - This is where you put your precious item when you go on vacation.
-
To keep your jewellery looking sparkly at home soak your ring in warm water mixed with dishwashing liquid. Then with a soft bristle toothbrush, gently tap under and behind the gemstones, this will pull out creams and hand soaps that get stuck behind the gems.
We advise you to bring the jewellery we have made for you into the Set Together Jewellery shop on a yearly basis for a complimentary clean and check up.
-
Hand lotions and soaps will not damage your jewellery. However, they will get caught behind the gemstones and diamonds which will make the item look less sparkly. These products can easily be cleaned off during your yearly check up.
