At Set Together Jewellery, we blend traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, using techniques ranging from ancient forging and handcrafting to advanced CAD design and casting. Each project is carefully evaluated to ensure the best method is chosen for exceptional quality and precision. All manufacturing is done onsite at our Sunshine Coast Jewellery Store.
Handmade - Applying the same methods used over 100 years ago. Creating jewellery by hand hasn’t changed all that much, other than electricity to power a hand drill and use of the modern gas and oxy torch. We hammer, mill, bend cut and file bars of gold into pieces of jewellery.
Wax carving - Wax is carved and filed into the shape needed, then cast into metal, followed by filing and polishing to perfection by hand. This method is best used for signet rings.
CAD - Computer aided design is the most common form of jewellery manufacturing. This process uses computer technology to perfectly draw a design into a digital render. The 3D image is printed in Perspex, which is used as a model that is cast in solid gold or platinum. The precious metal casting is then hand-filed, polished, assembled and soldered by hand.
