Diamond and Sapphire Sourcing

Sourcing the Perfect Diamond or Sapphire | How it Works

  • Firstly decide what gemstone you are looking for, i.e.. sapphire, natural diamond, lab diamond.

Then decide on shape, colour and size.

  • Decide how much you want to spend on a custom ring as a whole.

Your budget will dictate the size and quality of your sapphire or diamond.

  • Contact us about the sapphire or diamond you are after.

We then contact our suppliers to source the ideal gemstone for you.

If it is a sapphire you are looking for, we generally source a few stones for you to view and choose from.

For diamond, we purchase them directly from the supplier off their GIA certificate.

Natural Diamond Sourcing

Diamond is the most common choice of gemstone in an engagement ring due to their hardness, durability and sparkle.

Diamonds (both natural and lab) are graded by colour, cut, clarity and carat weight also knows as the four C’s. These factors reduce or add to the cost of a diamond.

OTHER GEMS

We source a large variety of gemstones. However, we recommend choosing a diamond, sapphire, ruby or other gemstones from the beryl and spinel family for your engagement ring.

The gems listed above have a hardness on or above 8 making them durable, hard stones that can withstand common everyday wear and tear. However, care must be taken when wearing any precious item, as nothing is indestructible.

There is a whole range of gems out there! Our onsite certified gemmologist Lisa is always happy to guide you through the different types of gemstones and educate you with the physical and chemical properties of each one.
